A flower farm has become a new tourist destination in Lambunao, a first class municipality in the province of Iloilo.
The two-hectare Yamato Flower Farm is situated in Barangay Cayan Oeste, about three kilometers or five minutes away by tricycle from the town proper.
The farm is home to different varities of floral plants such as marigold, zinnia, globe amaranth, mexican petunia, cosmos, cocks comb, celusia, sunflower and portulaca.
The photo op-worthy farm is owned by Ruth Lacuesta and managed by his brother, Mario Lacuesta. It is open daily between 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
It was only in July this year when siblings Analyn Ferrariz, Ailyn Jacinto, Adea Marie Lutero, and Amado Lutero Jr. together with their friend, Harriette Girao, started to plant flowers in the vacant lot near the defunct Yamato International School.h
The idea of putting up the farm came from their love for flowers.
It was opened to the public last Sept. 28. The entrance fee is P30 per person.
Lambunao is also known for its majestic waterfalls, Tinagong Dagat, and Mari-it Wildlife and Conservation Park.IMT
