Iloilo City’s parks and plazas are not only flowery but also fragrant.
Mayor Jerry P. Treñas said the city’s beautification program has already planted several dama de noche at Esplanade to make the park fragrant at night when people take a walk or hangout.
He added the City Government is also looking for more sampaguita, dama de noche, and ilang-ilang to be planted at public parks.
The City Hall has already prepared golden shower seedlings to be planted in district plazas.
Esplanade, center islands, plant boxes, pocket gardens, and landscaped open spaces all over the metropolis are continuously enhanced with flowering ornamental plants.
The city’s multi-sectoral tree-planting activity last month planted hundreds of fire trees along Circumferential Road in Jaro district.
The city is also maintaining the cherry blossom-like rosy trumpet trees which have become an attraction along Diversion Road in Mandurriao district.Iloilo City PIO
