Presidential Adviser on Poverty Alleviation Larry Gadon has expressed regret for having supported the Dutertes in the past.

“Yes, I really regret,” Gadon said, commenting on his disbarment complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte, following her controversial remarks about hiring someone to kill President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., his wife Liza, and House Speaker Martin Romualdez.

“Hindi ko naman akalain na ganyan pala sila eh,” he added.

Gadon criticized Duterte’s threat as “immature” and a lack of statesmanship, noting her failure to understand critical issues.

“Atsaka hindi siya nag-aaral. Basta na lang siya nagsasalita na ano. Kagaya dun sa healthcare issues. Hindi niya chini-check kung ano ang binibigay ng PhilHealth. She is totally detached from the reality,” according to him.

Gadon, a former counsel for Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, previously led the Pro-Duterte Constitutional Reformers to Federalism. In 2022, he received an endorsement from both former President Duterte and then-Mayor Sara Duterte for his senatorial bid, after unsuccessful runs in 2016 and 2019.

In June 2023, Gadon was disbarred for misogynistic and abusive comments directed at a journalist, which were captured in a viral video.IMT
