Iloilo Vice Governor Christine Garin has authored an ordinance granting financial incentives to professional licensure and BAR examination topnotchers.

The proposed measure, which already hurdled the Sangguniang Panlalawigan’s first reading, aims to motivate Ilonggo graduates to not just pass but also top their respective exams.

Under Garin’s ordinance, those who will rank first in the Physician Licensure Examination (PLE) and the Bar exam will receive P40 thousand.

Examinees who will rank second down to fifth will get P20 thousand while those who will rank sixth to 10th will get P15 thousand.

In other exams administered by the Professional Regulations Commission, those who will rank first will get P20 thousand.

Exam takers will rank second to fifth will receive P15 thousand while those who will rank sixth to 10th will get P10 thousand.

Garin said only topnotchers who have lived in the province for six months are qualified for the one-time cash incentive.IMT
