Globe continues to enhance the country’s digital infrastructure with the construction of 833 new cell sites and the upgrade of 5,395 mobile sites to LTE in the first nine months of the year. This advancement aims to ensure reliable connectivity and wide coverage across the country.
The company’s vigorous efforts in network builds have been pivotal in delivering an elevated customer experience, providing countless Filipinos with access to high-speed internet.
Such dedication to improving its services has been recognized with the prestigious accolade of “Most Consistent Fixed Broadband Provider” in 33 towns and cities, along with two provinces for the third quarter of 2023, according to Ookla® Speedtest Intelligence® data. This honor comes after Globe’s commendable performance in the previous quarter, where it led in 31 locations.
In addition, Globe has reported notable enhancements in both download and upload speeds in 19 strategic locations in the third quarter of the year.
“As we strengthen our infrastructure with new cell sites and LTE upgrades, we’re helping accelerate digitalization. Our relentless builds are a clear indication of our dedication to service excellence. At Globe, we believe in harnessing technology to create opportunities and drive inclusive growth, empowering communities across the Philippines to reach their full potential,” said Beck Eclipse, Globe’s Chief Customer Experience Officer.
Globe is currently maximizing the use of its existing fiber inventory, which aligns with this year’s reduced capital expenditure (CAPEX). This is in line with Globe’s commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG No. 9, which fosters innovation and infrastructure as drivers of inclusive economic growth.
The digital solutions platform has spent ₱54 billion in CAPEX as of September 2023, of which 91% was allocated to meet data needs, ensuring that customers have continuous access to premier digital solutions and connectivity.
