Gorriceta open to running for Iloilo vice governor

Iloilo Second District Representative Michael “Mike” Gorriceta is open to running for vice governor of the province in the 2025 midterm elections.

“Open ako nga magdalagan vice [governor] sa province of Iloilo,” Gorriceta said in an interview over radio station RMN-Iloilo.

According to the second termer congressman, he is glad that he is being considered as a running mate of incumbent Governor Arthur Defensor, Jr.

But he clarified that he and Defensor have not yet formally talked about their possible tandem in 2025.

Currently, Gorriceta is a member of the Nacionalista Party while Defensor is part of the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP), the political party of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr.

Gorriceta’s possible vice gubernatorial bid is reportedly supported by Iloilo Third Representative Lorenz Defensor, Fifth District Representative Raul Tupas and USWAG Ilonggo Partylist Representative Jojo Ang.IMT
