President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has ordered all government agencies to remain on high alert in response to typhoon Marce.
In a statement, Marcos Jr. raised the need to ensure relevant information reaches communities promptly and that reports from the ground are accurate.
“Sa mga ahensya ng pamahalaan, you all know the drill. I am placing you all in high alert,” the President said.
“Simulan natin sa pagkasa ng isang maayos na sistema ng komunikasyon na mabilis maghahatid ng abiso at impormasyon sa mga mamamayan,” he added.
The President also instructed authorities to closely monitor water levels in waterways and reservoirs.
He directed rescue teams at all government levels to prepare their equipment and vehicles, including those that can help with rescue and relief efforts.
“Ikasa na rin ang lahat ng rescue equipment, sa lahat ng antas ng pamahalaan, sa lahat ng ahensya na maaaring mag-ambag ng mga kagamitan, lalo na mga sasakyan.”
Marcos Jr. likewise reminded authorities to pre-position relief goods in safe warehouses where they can be quickly accessed and delivered to affected areas.
He further ordered the Department of Public Works and Highways and the Department of Transportation to standby for road-clearing operations.IMT
