The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB-6) will conduct public hearings to determine if there’s a need to increase the salary of private sector employees and household workers or kasambahays in Western Visayas.

The hearings, based on the recent advisory issued by RTWPB-6, are scheduled on October 10 and 21 this year in Iloilo City and Bacolod City, respectively.

The first hearing will be held at Sam’s 21 Hotel in Mandurriao district. It will cover Iloilo City and the provinces of Iloilo, Aklan, Capiz, Antique, and Guimaras.

The second hearing will be at the Social Hall of the Negros Provincial Capitol. This covers Bacolod City and Negros Occidental.

The current daily minimum wage in Western Visayas is P480 for workers in private establishments with more than 10 employees, P450 for those working in establishments with 10 or fewer employees, and P440 for agricultural workers.

Meanwhile, household workers in the region receive a monthly salary of P4,500 to P5,000.IMT
