Iloilo City will remain under Alert Level 1 —the most relaxed COVID-19 classification— until the end of March.

The government’s COVID-19 task force approved placing the 48 areas, including the city, under the lowest COVID-19 alert level from March 16-31, acting presidential spokespersons Martin Andanar announced on Tuesday, March 15.

Other Alert Level 1 areas in Western Visayas are Aklan, Bacolod City, Capiz, and Guimaras.

Based on government guidelines, under Alert Level 1, most capacity and movement restrictions are removed. The quarantine level allows 100% capacity in government offices and public transport.

Meanwhile, the provinces of Iloilo and Negros Occidental will stay under Alert Level 2 during the same period.

The region’s active COVID-19 cases currently stand at 2,840. Iloilo province accounted for the highest number 1,484, followed by Iloilo City, 425; Negros Occidental, 387; Capiz, 170; Aklan, 130; Bacolod City, 97; Antique, 89; and Guimaras, 47.IMT
