Another historic victory for Iloilo Doctors College Medics as they outlasted University of San Agustin Golden Eagles, 81-72, in the do-or-die Game 3 of the ILOPRISAA Men’s Basketball Tournament at the USA Gymnasium.
The victory allowed the Medics to complete their turnaround in the best-of-three championship series after losing Game 1 to the Golden Eagles before bouncing back in Game 2.
Trailing by five points, the Medics found themselves back after the first and second quarter before making a run in the third frame to take a slim two-point advantage heading the fourth quarter.
In the final period, the Medics waxed hot offensively as they established a nine-point lead midway through the quarter before preserving the winning margin the rest of the way.
With the victory, the Medics will represent ILOPRISAA in the Western Visayas Private Schools Athletics Association Meet 2025 taking place from February 21 to 24 in Roxas City, Capiz.
Meanwhile, Iloilo Doctor’s College Medics’ high school girls volleyball team also duplicated the winning performance of their seniors after a great run in the Iloilo Schools Sports Council Meet 2025 secondary girls volleyball competition.
The Medics claimed the crown after eliminating Leon National High School in a tightly-contested finale game at the John B. Lacson-Foundation Maritime University Gymnasium. They will represent ILOPRISAA in the WVRAA Meet slated next month in Antique.IMT Sports
