Iloilo Fifth District Representative Raul “Boboy” Tupas has filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) for reelection in the 2022 polls.

“It’s an honor to serve to my utmost and level best for the past five years our kasimanwas in all 11 towns and 301 barangays as their servant leader,” said Tupas.

“Once again, I will be offering my humble services to our beloved Quinto Distrito,” he added.

The incumbent congressman was joined by his wife Binky and Aris Patrick Salcedo Tedoco, who will both run as board members, at the COMELEC office on Monday, Oct. 4.

Tupas, chairperson of the House Committee on National Defense, said he wanted to continue the programs he started.

The Ilonggo lawmaker is one of the principal authors of the free college education law and the free irrigation law.

Tupas also authored the law that grants fresh graduates or first time jobseekers free processing of clearances.

He also implemented various projects in different towns of the Fifth District. Recently, he visited the ongoing construction of the Balasan Transport Terminal Project which is funded through General Appropriations Act (GAA) 2021 or National Budget 2021 amounting to P50 million.

“In a matter of months, Quinto Distrito will have another much improved LGU-owned and operated terminal, this time in the town of Balasan,” said Tupas.

The province’s Fifth District is composed of 11 towns: Barotac Viejo, San Rafael, Lemery, Ajuy, Sara, Estancia, Balasan, San Dionisio, Batad, Concepcion, and Carles.IMT
