All designated COVID-19 beds in Iloilo City hospitals are already occupied, according to Mayor Jerry Treñas.
“There are no more vacant COVID beds in the hospitals of Iloilo City. The hospitals are overwhelmed by the number of positive patients who are senior citizens and those with comorbidities,” said Treñas.
“Even the emergency rooms are full of COVID patients. We will get through this alive together,” he added.
As of June 20, the city has 2,562 active cases of COVID-19, the second highest in Western Visayas.
Treñas appealed to his constituents to “stay at their homes as COVID-19 cases continue to increase.
“We will get through this alive together,” he said.IMT
