Seven more cases of the more contagious Delta variant were recorded in Iloilo City.
With this, Mayor Jerry Treñas reiterated his call to the public be more cautious by religiously following the minimum health standards.
“We really have to double our guards, especially that we have the Delta variant in our midst. I urge everyone to observe stricter protocols, and avail of the vaccination. We have the vaccines waiting for you,” he said.
The seven new Delta variant cases brought the total Delta cases in the city to 22, data from the City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU) showed.
Seven of the newly logged cases have already been tagged as recovered while the remaining one is still classified as active.
According to CESU, those six recovered individuals will undergo repeat swab tests and quarantine while waiting for the results.
Data also shows that three, including the active case, were fully vaccinated against COVID-19 while one received first dose of the vaccine.IMT
