More than P71 million worth of illegal drugs were confiscated in various anti-narcotics operations in Iloilo City from January 27 to July 26 this year.
The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO), headed by Police Colonel Joeresty Coronica, seized illegal drugs amounted to P71,191,250 in the first seven months of 2023.
During the period, ICPO conducted a total 190 operations, which resulted in the apprehension of 282 individuals. Eighty-nine percent or 252 of those arrested were pushers and 11 percent or 30 were users.
On the other hand, ICPO reported a total of 65 operations against illegal gambling that led to the arrest of 257 individuals.
In its campaign against loose firearms, a total of 19 individuals were captured during ICPO’s operations. A total of 86 firearms with expired licenses were surrendered and deposited and 16 unlicensed weapons were seized.IMT
