Iloilo City has been preparing for the entry of more people starting next month, according to Mayor Jerry Treñas.

From the general community quarantine (GCQ), Treñas is expecting that the city’s status will be downgraded on June 1.

“Hopefully madula na ang aton GCQ kag maadto na ta sa modified GCQ,” the mayor said.

“Gusto ta kon magdagsa na ang mga tawo diri preparado kita. Ginapreparahan ta gid ang June 1,” Treñas added.

On May 16, the city shifted from ECQ (enhanced community quarantine) to GCQ, which has more relaxed restrictions.

Under Executive Order No. 075 issued my Treñas, the implementation of GCQ in the city will end on May 31.

“After sini expect ta nga madamo na gid ang masulod diri sa aton nga from other provinces diri sa region (Western Visayas),” the mayor said.

“Amat-amat nalang ini pero ang social distancing kag pagsuksok sang face masks instriktuhon ta gihapon,” Treñas stressed.

The city currently has 18 confirmed cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Of the total count, 13 have recovered while 1 has died.IMT
