Iloilo City reopens bars, but public drinking still banned

Drinking of alcoholic drinks in public places is still prohibited in Iloilo City, according to Mayor Jerry Treñas.

“I wish to remind everyone that public consumption of alcoholic drinks is not yet allowed by the IATF (Inter-Agency Task Force),” Treñas said on Wednesday, Nov. 17.

“Let us wait for the IATF to decide on the matter,” he stressed.

Bars, night clubs, resto-bars and other entertainment places in the city, which is currently under Alert Level 2, have been allowed to resume operations provided they follow strict health protocols.

Jeck Conlu, spokesperson of the city government’s COVID-19 Team, said they are strictly monitoring these establishments to ensure their compliance.

“May personnel kita sang Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) kag Public Safety and Transportation Management Office (PSTMO) nga nagabantay.”

“Indi pa sila pwede ka serbe sang makahulubog nga ilimnon. Ang pwede lang anay subong mga pagkaon.”

Erring establishments will face revocation of their business permits.IMT
