Mae Diane M. Azores, a University of Santo Tomas-Legazpi graduate topped the 2019 Bar exam. She registered a passing rate of 91.0490-percent.

According to Bernabe, the en banc lowered the passing grade to 74 percent.

“The Court en banc decided to lower the passing rate from 75 percent to 74 percent in light of, among other considerations, the discerned need for younger and technologically adept lawyers to help different fronts of society as we meet the peculiar challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic and transition to the new normal,” she said.

The Bar exam is touted as the toughest professional licensure exam in the country.IMT
