Corporations and individuals who topped last year’s payments on real property and business taxes will be recognized as part of Iloilo City Government’s 86th Charter Day celebration on Aug. 25.

Mayor Jerry Treñas lauded these taxpayers who continue to be the staunch partners in ensuring a sustainable, livable and resilient city.

“We are always grateful to the business sector for helping in the growth and development of our city despite the previous pandemic and the uncertainty of the economy,” Treñas said.

The 2022 awardees in the real property corporate category are Panay Energy Development Corporation (PEDC), SM Prime Holdings, Inc., Megaworld Corporation, Panay Power Corporation, HEVA Management Development Corporation, Philippine Foremost Milling Corporation, Robinsons Land Corporation, MORE Electric and Power Corporation, Avon River Power Holdings Corporation, and TTK Realty and Development Corporation.

Meanwhile top taxpayers for the real property individuals category include Mr. Romeo Go and Mrs. Jill Go, Mr. Theodore M. Valderrama and Mrs. Eufemia Wilmett Wuthrich Valderrama, Mr. James Kho and Mrs. Lynn Kho, Mr. Marcelino M. Florete Jr. and Mrs. Susan C. Florete, Vicky Yu Yap, Mr. Winston Vincent Yu Yap and Mrs. Genivie Servidad Yap, Wu Bing Huai, Mr. Emilio S. Diez and Mrs. Gina S. Diez, Robert U. Po, Marilyn Uy Ong, and Mr. Tomas Cheng Chua and Mrs. Sonita Uy Cheng Chua.

For the business corporate category, the top taxpayers are the following: PEDC, MORE Electric and Power Corporation, SYL Hermanos Industrial Sales, Inc., Samsung Electronics Philippines Corporation, Vic Imperial Appliance Corporation, Mandurriao Star, Inc., ACM Landholdings, Inc, Philippine Foremost Milling Corporation, Panay Power Corporation, and La Filipina Uy Gongco Corporation.

On the other hand, awardees for the business single proprietorship category are Gilbert F. Falcis, Denate Martin Crisostomo Que, Theodore M. Valderrama, Noemi Borgonia Gevero, Ronnie P. Primaylon, George O. Que, Manuel L. Kho, Alvin Hilario De Guzman Uy, Paul O. Que, and Nancy C. Penit.

Treñas said that the annual recognition of these corporations and individuals is one way to highlight their significance in the city’s progress.

“Indeed, taxes are the lifeblood of the government. Our programs and services for the people are ensured because of these responsible corporations and individuals,” Treñas added.
