Barangays in Iloilo City with laudable achievements on the campaign against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) will receive cash prizes from the city government this December.
In a post on its official Facebook page, the city government will give as much as P1.6 million worth of prizes to these barangays as part of the “Bato Iloilo, Bato Barangay Ko!” campaign.
The campaign was conceptualized to highlight the city’s continuing recovery and the Ilonggos’ resilience despite the on-going global health crisis brought about by COVID-19, the post said.
The categories are as follows:
- Most Effective Barangay Info Drive Against COVID-19
- Most Active Barangay Council Against COVID-19
- Most Active Barangay SK Against COVID-19
- Most Active Barangay Social Media Campaign Against COVID-19

“We want to reward the efforts, cooperation and initiatives of the barangays and the community in their collective fight against COVID-19. And, to encourage leaders in the barangays to explore and implement programs that will best protect their residents from the pandemic,” the post said.
