Tribu Paghidaet, the Dinagyang Festival 2025 Tribes Competition grand champion, will perform in New Zealand and Japan this year.

Joyce Ann Clavecillas, Iloilo Festivals Foundation, Inc. (IFFI) executive director, said the winning tribe is set to perform in Auckland, New Zealand in November.

La Paz National High School’s Tribu Paghidaet has also been invited by the Department of Tourism (DOT-6) to perform at the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan in June (tentative).

“We are excited to showcase our culture and strength, the resilience of the Dinagyang warrior to the world that celebrates our culture and unity,” said IFFI president Allan Ryan Tan.

IFFI is the organizer of Dinagyang, a religious and cultural festival held every fourth Sunday of January in Iloilo City.

In a statement, City Mayor Jerry Treñas said: “We will proudly showcase Iloilo City and the Dinagyang Festival to these international audiences, promoting our rich culture and artistry.”

“Let’s keep the Dinagyang spirit alive and continue to make Iloilo City shine on the global stage!” he added.IMT
