Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. has contracted the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
“Contract tracing is now being done while the Office of the Governor is closed today for disinfection,” the provincial government said in an advisory on Thursday morning, Oct. 6.
“Governor Defensor will be working from home in the meantime,” it added.
The governor underwent reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) testing on Wednesday morning, Oct. 5.
His positive test result came out on Wednesday afternoon.
The fully vaccinated governor is currently experiencing mild symptoms of the viral disease.IMT
