SM City Iloilo has denied rumors circulating online that there are confirmed cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) involving its employees and tenants.
The management of the mall issued an official statement on Sunday, June 14, to debunk the claim of an online message.
“We would like to remind the public that only DOH (Department of Health) or LGU (local government unit) can release any official reports on positive or negative COVID-19 cases,” it said.
The management confirmed that “a voluntary COVID-19 antibody rapid testing” was conducted for “all employees and agency frontliners in a venue outside our mall premises.”
But it stressed that none of those who were tested turned out positive for COVID-19.
“We encourage everyone not to engage with any information being circulated from other sources,” the management said.IMT
