When in doubt, kick it out. 

Another remarkable feat from the Iloilo Mark V. Pinggol (MVP) taekwondo gym as they continue to dominate the local scene. 

Amassing a total of 24 gold medals during the 5th Mayor Stephen A. Palmares Pintados De Pasi Regional Taekwondo Championships held at the Passi City Arena, the team showed great athleticism in the recent event. 

The Denmark Pinggol-mentored Iloilo MVP jins won eight gold medals in the Poomsae event and wrapped up the tournament with 16 more golds in the Kyorugi event. The squad also won 19 silver medals and seven bronze in both event categories.

“The Pintados de Pasi’ Regional Taekwondo Championships is an annual highlight for us.  This year, despite the challenges of our WVRAA routines, we’re grateful for our MVPinians’ performance.  Our dedicated coaches, Sir Melcris Villarin, Sir Diego Garcia, and Sir Shan Geroy, led the team. We give thanks to God and the MVP community for this journey,” Pinggol said.

MVP jins who delivered the gold medals in the poomsae event are Xabriel Zia Gebucion, Ashley Parreñas, Elmeira Ville Loreno, Gaea Angelique Miraflores, Ma. Arabella Dayata, Akira Encanto Zyna Dulos, and Emmanuel Quistado.

In the kyorugi event, gold medalists were Reyna Grace Elias, Elmeira Ville Loreno, Prince Francis Jastillano, Alexander Niccolo Gajasan, Hendrix Lyn Rebonquin, Akira Encanto, Kassandra Dhea Castillano, Mianna Venice Alcoran, Tashia Miles Tamayo, Eliza Shane Revilla, Khent Wharlie Donguila, Joannah Donguila, Crystarufna Aesga Deloria, Nathan Panes, John Noah Gardoque, and Erica Ruth Vergara. 

Winning the silver medals, Jon Xyrell Dulos, Prince Ivan Dugayo, Andre Jules Jordan, Alleinna Nestley Gajasan, Jaz Andrei Dequilla, Rhianne Yhoube Pasquin, Jude Kiven Romea, Kim Charlotte Germinal, Lhorilee Jutay, Yobe Aleah Gepullano, Denise Ane Tabucol, and Abie Gayle Tambirao ruled their matches.

In the Poomsae category, Rhianne Angela Tuares, Jahven Floyd Pendon, Atasha Nathalie Gajasan, Nathan Xander Sirilan, Melben Raljan Elueso, Calvin Jayce Alapar, and Brynce Matthew Gaquit secured the silver medals. 

With the win, Iloilo MVP gym was hailed as the first runner-up team in the Poomsae category and second runner-up in Kyorugi.IMT Sports
