Iloilo MVP Taekwondo Gym is still unstoppable in local tournaments as they ruled the recently-concluded Boracay Island Regional New Face Taekwondo tournament in Barangay Manoc Manoc, Malay, Aklan.
Trained by head coach Denmark Pinggol, the MVP jins showed formidable performances, taking home 21 golds, 10 silvers, and six bronze medals.
To recall, the multi-awardes gym also dominated the Capiztahan Taekwondo tournament in Roxas City, Capiz last April.
Hauling gold medals for the Iloilo City -based squad were Rein Ian Dongosa, Zoe Rheyce Rosales, Phil Caleb Regalado, Fritzjerald Encanto, Aiyanna Jade Espina, Nicah Jan Robles, Alexis Jane Robles, Eujean Ivanka Castate, Antonio Cezar Roldan, Melben Raljan Elueso, Alleinna Nestley Gajasan, Francien Grace Pet, Alexander Gajasan, Cleo Evangelista, Jan Dayata, Rhyden Figueroa, Justine Ganadillo, and Juliene Gulmatico
Adrian Gajasan III, Maria Dona Edquila, Kim Xian Arceña, Xian Jaiden Bayasca, Samantha Ansino, Andre Jordan, Kadisha Llorac, Matt Sumido, Prince Ivan Dugayo, and Nieka Guevara also proved supreme after settling for a silver medal finish.
Bronze medals were snatched by Kassandra Castellano, Sophia Marie Bautista, Athena Evangelista, Reyna Elias, Rania Hormillosa, and Jace Raven Ganadillo.
Pinggol said the MVP coaches are so happy being awarded as the overall champion and recognized as one of the most outstanding gyms in the region.
“It’s always a rewarding experience for everyone involved. I’m glad also to hear from the team that the players enjoyed themselves and that the tournament brought new learnings to all participants. It’s fantastic that the kids also had the opportunity to spend their summer vacation with their families while enjoying the beauty of Boracay.
