The Iloilo MVP Taekwondo Gym maintained its winning form as they wrapped up the 2020 Visayas Inter-School Online Poomsae and Speed Kicking Championships with 20 gold, 17, silver, and 12 bronze medals.
The team is comprised of players from St. Robert’s International School, SPED-ISEC, University of San Agustin, West Visayas State University – ILS, Starglow Center for Academics and Arts Aklan, Pakiad Elementary School, Iloilo NHS, Oton NHS, Great Thoughts Learning Center, Iloilo City NHS, Guimbal Child Development Center, Colegio de las Hijas de Jesus, Cabasi Sta. Rosa Integrated School, Assumption School, Ateneo de Iloilo, and Absorbent Mind Montessori.
The Robertians were led by Miagao pride Jhed Anthony Morata who got the silver in the Junior Male Black Speed Kicking, while Akimeh Demavivas won the Cadet. Alicia Sophia Gutierrez won the gold in Poomsae and silver in free kicking; Shires Pastolero ruled the Junior Female Yellow; while Alexis Araneta got two silvers in the Grade School Female Black division. Maria Dorotea Anne Aquino ruled the Junior Female Red while Shanen Anica Feranco, Quinn Jimenez, and Niña Pearl Acosta won silver, bronze, and gold respectively.
Adding the medal-haul for one of the best gyms in the region, Pearl Danielle Rosales took home the gold in free kicking and silver in kickpad kicking. The toddler female yellow belter is a pride of Absorbent Mind Montessori.
Ateneo de Iloilo stars also shine in the competition. Andria Margaret Palabrica gave pride after winning two gold medals in Poomsae and Free Kicking. Maria Beatriz Santos snagged the bronze and gold in free kicking and kickpad kicking.
“I am feeling very happy and blessed to win again two gold medals. I owe it to God and also to my coaches. I don’t usually think about it or say anything because I don’t want it to go inside my head. I am always reminded to work hard and stay humble. I will work even harder because brown belt is not easy anymore,” shared Palabrica.
Marielle Faye Lagamo got the silver in the Junior Female Brown while Josh Karl Macahilig won the bronze in the Cadet Male Black. Sophia Marie Bautista got the bronze in the Toddler Female Blue Adrian Joseph Gajasan III earned the bronze in the Toddler Male Red.
Sheine Nicole De Asis bannered the Assumption Iloilo delegates as she won the gold in free kicking and bronze in kickpad kicking for Grade School Female Black category. Viene Marie Dulaca got the silver in Poomsae while Phil Andrew Margarico added silver in Free Kicking.
Guimbal’s Denzel Espadilla got the bronze in free kicking while Colegio de las Hijas de Jesús star Cecil Angeli Rentoy won two gold medals in the Poomsae and Free Kicking divisions. Dumangas National High School – STE representative Lindsy Lorraine Degayo brought home the silver in Free Kicking, while Eujean Ivanka Castete of Guimbal Child Development Center harvested silver in Free Kicking.
Great Thoughts Learning Center has a gold medal, courtesy of Adriel Elexus Balberona while Iloilo City National High School has another gold with Eduardo Adenic III. Iloilo NHS Christian Pudadera won the bronze in free kicking while teammate Geon Ivan Dulaca got the silver in the same event.
Oton NHS Athena Agramon won the bronze in free kicking while James Annrhey Pecayco of Pakiad ES won the gold in the same event.
SPED-ISEC jins also made their presence felt after Ianna Gabriella Rosales topped two events with two gold medals while Phil Caleb Regalado got the gold and silver in Poomsae and Free Kicking, respectively.
Adrian Emmanuel Zarandin of Starglow Center for Academics and Arts, Aklan made great forms to cop the gold in the Grade School Male Yellow
University of San Agustin’s Senddrick Valencia won gold in the Junior Male Black while teammate Jannah Ysabel Velez received bronze in the Junior Female Black. Other Augustinian medalists were Justin Adrian Apura (silver, Poomsae); Angela Joy Marie Bermejo (bronze, Junior Female Black); Alyanah Julienne Tionk (silver, Cadet Female Blue); and Jenella Ashley Tionko (bronze, Grade School Female Blue)
West Visyas State University – Integrated Laboratory School mainstay Sirhc Einreb Damaolao snatched the bronze medal in the Grade School Male Red.
