The Iloilo Provincial Government has alloted more P52 million to support the Department of Education’s (DepEd) blended learning system for the coming school year.
Provincial Administrator Suzette Mamon, who serves as secretary of the Iloilo Local School Board, said the amount has been sourced from funds intended sports programs and activities in the province this year.
Portions of the budget, according to Mamon, will go to airtime for the broadcast of radio-based materials, and to the production of curriculum-based video lessons.
Classes will begin in public schools nationwide on Aug. 24, 2020.
The education department moved opening of classes from June to August due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.IMT
