There are now more than 3,000 active coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in the province of Iloilo, data from the Department of Health (DOH-6) showed.
The province logged 175 new infections on Thursday, July 15, bringing its total active case count to 3,011, the highest in the whole Western Visayas region.
Since the pandemic broke out in March last year, the province has registered 14,260 confirmed cases of COVID-19, of which 10,896 have recovered and 350 have died.
Negros Occidental posted the second highest number of active cases in the region with 1,730, followed by Aklan (1,875), Iloilo City (1,633), Bacolod City (1,427), Capiz (610), Antique (510), and Guimaras (510).
All in all, the region logged 10, 928 active COVID-19 cases out of its 75,437 cumulative confirmed cases.IMT
