Iloilo province has highest COVID-19 cases in WV

There are now six confirmed cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the province of Iloilo, the highest in the whole Western Visayas region.

Three of the coronavirus-positive patients in the province are from the town of Guimbal, which already has the presence of local transmission of the dreaded disease.

The patients found infected with COVID-19 in Guimbal include a 58-year-old male, a 51-year-old female, and a 65-year-old male.

The other patients are from Lambunao (70-year-old male), Barotac Nuevo (59-year-old femae), and Miagao (22-year-old female).

The total cases include two deaths from Lambunao and Guimbal.

Iloilo province is followed by Bacolod City with 5 confirmed cases of COVID-19; Aklan, 4; Capiz, 3 (1 death), Iloilo City, 3 (1 death); and Negros Occidental, 1.

The provinces of Antique and Guimaras have zero cases.IMT
