The province of Iloilo logged 20 new confirmed cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020.
This pushed the province’s total infection count to 3,047.
The town of Pototan posted the highest number of additional cases with 8, followed by Passi City with 4 and Oton with 2.
The towns of Cabatuan, Miagao, Anilao, Ajuy, Alimodian, and San Miguel registered one new case each.
Of the new cases, majority or 16 are considered indigenous or local, three are locally stranded individuals (LSIs) and one is returning overseas Filipino (ROF).
Three of them are currently admitted in different hospitals, 12 are under home quarantine and five are staying in quarantine facilities.
The PHO urged Ilonggos to strictly observe safety protocols (wearing of masks and face shields, observing physical distancing and frequent handwashing) as COVID-19 cases continue to rise.
It also discouraged from going to malls and plazas as well as from attending non-family related gatherings.IMT
