The number of police officers who will be deployed to secure the upcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) in the province of Iloilo is “insufficient.”
Police Major Rolando Araño, Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) spokesperson, said around 2,000 cops are set to be deployed for the October 30 village polls.
The province, according Araño, needs at least 1,000 more policemen to ensure peaceful and safe elections.
“Ang aton sini nga number of personnel is not enough to cover sa kinanglan naton for the Barangay and SK Elections,” he said in an interview over radio station Bombo Radyo-Iloilo.
“But ang aton [Police Regional Office (PRO-6)] nagatinguha nga mapangitaan personnel para maka-augment diri sa IPPO para ma-attain naton ang kinanglanon nga personnel,” Araño added.IMT
