Iloilo province remains under lockdown until May 15

Iloilo province will remain under the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) until May 15, 2020.

The province is included in the new list of areas in the Visayas that will extend the lockdown beyond April 30.

The list, validated by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID), was made public by Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque on Tuesday morning, April 28. 

Governor Arthur Defensor Sr. believes that the extension is necessary to prevent the further spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 ( COVID-19) in the province.

“Amo gid man ini ang gusto naton matabo nga padayunon ang aton ECQ. Sa pagkamatuod human na ang aton executive order (EO)for any renewal of the ECQ, this is a refined version of our previous EO on ECQ,” he said.

Defensor urged the public to continue to cooperate with authorities.

“Kay ginhatagan kita sang kahigayunan nga masustenir naton ang aton nga na-umpisahan nga maayo so ihatag naton ang aton nga padayon nga pag-paumod, pasensya kag pag-pahimunong,” he said.IMT
