The Iloilo Provincial Government will take charge of the staging of the Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahanan cultural contest next year.
The Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahanan is part of the celebration of Iloilo City’s Dinagyang Festival. It is held every fourth Saturday of January.
Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. said the Iloilo Festivals Foundation, Inc. (IFFI) and the city government approved their proposal to host the 2024 Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahanan.
The provincial government, according to Defensor, initially targets to spend P5.9 million for the Kasadyahan, which is slated on January 27.
The governor is expecting that the hosting will boost the promotion of the province’s new tourism slogan – “Fun, Foodie, Friendly Iloilo.”
This year, Tribu Jalaud of Calinog town, Iloilo province emerged as champion in the cultural competition. It bested seven other tribes from different towns in Western Visayas.IMT
