Iloilo moved four spots down in the latest ranking of richest provinces in the country in terms of assets.

Based on the 2023 Annual Financial Report (AFR) released by the Commission on Audit (COA), Iloilo slipped to 11th with P20.75 billion in declared assets.

In 2022, Iloilo ranked seventh. It had P19.977 billion in assets.

Meanwhile, Cebu retained its place as the country’s richest province with P309.897 billion in assets.

Rizal came in second with a total assets of P39.71 billion, followed by Camarines Sur (P33.522 billion), Batangas (P32.522 billion), Davao de Oro (P23.379 billion), Cavite (P22.989 billion), Ilocos Sur (P21.951 billion), Bukidnon (P21.643 billion), Negros Occidental (P21.068 billion) and Pampanga (P20.778 billion).

The financial report for local gpvernments was submitted by COA to the Office of the President and Congress, as mandated by the Constitution and the Government Auditing Code of the Philippines.IMT
