The number of active coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in the province of Iloilo is nearing the 3,000 mark, data from the Provincial Health (PHO) Office showed.
On Sunday, July 4, the PHO recorded 82 new cases, bringing the province’s total active case count to 2,963.
The town of Concepcion accounted for the most number of new infections at 19, all are local cases.
Leon came in second with 13 new cases, followed by Santa Barbara, 7; Oton and Passi City, 5 each; Pototan, San Miguel, Pavia, Cabatuan, and Tigbauan, 3 each; and Barotac Nuevo, Badiangan, Maasin, Duenas, and Igbaras, 2 each.
The towns of San Enrique, Guimbal, Balasan, Dingle, Janiuay, Miagao, Mina and Batad recorded one new case each.
The top 10 towns with highest active cases in the province are Santa Barbara (331), Concepcion (171) Oton (156), Guimbal (150), Pavia (148), Miagao (125), Cabatuan (117), Passi City (110), Sara (89), and Dumangas (86).
Since the pandemic started last year, the province has registered 12,881 confirmed cases of COVID-19, of which 74.54 percent or 9,601 have recovered and 2.46 percent or 317 have died.
The entire province is currently under modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ).IMT
