The number of confirmed coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in the province of Iloilo has crossed the 10,000 mark.

The Provincial Health Office (PHO) recorded 208 new infections on Wednesday, June 16, raising the province’s total caseload to 10,093.

Of the fresh cases, 18 each are from Oton and Igbaras; 15 each from Santa Barbara, Dumangas and Sara; 10 each from Zarraga, Janiuay and Pavia; 8 each from Pototan, Tigbauan, and Anilao; 7 each from Guimbal and Balasan; and 6 each from Miagao, Maasin and Ajuy.

Other new cases are from Tubungan (5), Mina (5), Estancia (4), Leon (3), Banate (3), Leganes (3), Dingle (2), San Miguel (2), Lemery (2), Concepcion (2), Passi City (1), San Joaquin (1), San Enrique (1), Badiangan (1), Calinog (1), Carles (1), Lambunao (1), New Lucena (1), Cabatuan (1), and San Rafael (1).

PHO data showed that majority of the newly infected individuals are considered local cases.

The total COVID-19 infections in the province include 7,395 recoveries (73.27%), 243 deaths (2.41%), and 2,455 active cases.

The entire province is currently under modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ), the second most restrictive quarantine classification in the country.IMT
