A 2022 Bar Examination passer from Lambunao, Iloilo takes pride in being a daughter of hardworking vendors.
Maria Joan Mecono was among the 3,992 examinees who passed one of the country’s toughest professional exams.
In a Facebook post, Mecono proudly introduced her parents who worked hard to provide the needs of their family.
“Ladies and gents, I am the youngest daughter of Mr Paterno Amid Mecono (kilala nyo ni tanan kay amo ni may pinakanamit carinderia sa Lambunao) and late Maria Flordeliza Magalladora Collado(kilala nyo man ni gabaligya saging sa tinda kag duru-duru dya anay manugsukot nga bombay), Juris Doctor, and I just hurdled the bar,” she wrote.
“‘Thank you’ will never be enough to express my gratitude to all those who helped me in my journey. For now, I cannot drop your names one by one but I will try my best to do so soon. To those who sent and are still sending me congratulatory messages, salamat gid,” she added.
Mecono posted for the first time her graduation photo. She finished her law degree from Central Philippine University (CPU) in 2021.
“I was always urged by my introvert x extrovert self to have this portrait as my profile pic but I just had so much patience to wait for this day to come. After all, I never considered myself ‘graduate’ until today,” she said.
“All the wait is all worth it. God’s plan indeed is magical. I was not able to take the BBE20_21 with my friends but God did not allow me to not have this season in my life. Lord, you are amazing,” she added.
Mecono advised those who failed to pass the exams not to lose hope.
“God makes everything happen in His time. You can do it. Hugs,” she said.
The results of last year’s Bar exams were released by the Supreme Court (SC) on Friday, April 14.IMT
