After three years of leading the Generika-Ayala Lifesavers, Ilongga volleybelle Fiola Ceballos will pace the Cignal HD Spikers ahead of the 2020 Philippine Superliga.
The native of Bingawan, Iloilo is set to reunite with long-time teammate and fellow Ilongga Jovelyn Gonzaga.
To recall, Ceballos and Guimara pride Gonzaga were former teammates at the Central Philippine University Golden Lions and were part of the school’s various championship runs.
Aside from volleyball, Ceballos and Gonzaga also teamed up in various beach volleyball competitions and have won numerous championships.
Ceballos, a 5-foot-7 outside hitter, was a new addition for the HD Spikers team following the recent departure of Mylene Paat and Jannine Navarro. She started her volleyball career when she was in third year high school. During her college stint, she carried her team to many titles. With her sterling performance, she caught the attention of local scouters and started hitting the court in the national arena.
Making a name for herself in the volleyball world, her intact volleyball skills and IQ, slowly gaining attraction as she plays for the Lifesavers.
She said she look up to Gonzaga not only as a teammate, but also a mentor.
From a then unpopular athlete, Ceballos has blossomed to be a star for Generika and now, expected to bring the same excitement in the court for Cignal.IMT
