Iloilo proves to be one of the hotbeds of esports stars as Martial Mayhem Esports, a team composed of young Ilonggo students, has made a groundbreaking achievement by becoming the first squad from the region to qualify for the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Developmental League (MDL) Philippines.
The recent success showcased the rising talent and dedication of Ilonggo esports athletes. Following a series of tough games, the squad secured their spot by topping the Iloilo Leg of the Regional Qualifiers held in Brgy. PHHC, Mandurriao district on Aug. 21. Their winning streak continued in the National Qualifiers conducted online on Aug. 21, where they showcased their skills against top teams from across the country.
Martial Mayhem Esports is a testament to the growing passion for esports in the region. Their qualification for MDL Season 4, which kicked off recently and will run for about six weeks, provides them with a platform to compete against the best teams and some franchise teams like Smart Omega, Team Liquid PH Academy, Blacklist Esports, etc. in the country and further develop their skills.
Despite their historic accomplishment, these young esports athletes currently face the challenge of securing funding and sponsorship to cover their tournament expenses. As they represent Iloilo City on the national stage, they are actively seeking support from the community and potential sponsors to ensure they can continue their journey in MDL Philippines and make their city proud.IMT Sports
