A 61-year-old seafarer from Arevalo district in Iloilo City is among the three latest coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients in Western Visayas.

The patient is asymptomatic or has not exhibited any symptom of the disease. He is currently staying at the city’s quarantine facility.

The infected seafarer arrived in Iloilo from Cebu on May 31 via a 2GO vessel.

According to Dr. Marie Jocelyn Te, Department of Health (DOH-6) spokesperson, the overseas worker was stranded in Manila for more than two months due to the suspension of travel.

“He travelled from Manila and arrived in Cebu on May 30,” she said.

The two other new COVID-19 cases in Western Visayas involve a 32-year-old male from Bacolod City and a 28-year-old male from La Castellana in Negros Occidental.

The DOH-6 also recorded six new recoveries. These include the folllowing:

▪27-year-old female from Bacolod City
▪27-year-old male from Bago City, Negros Occidental
▪28-year-old male from Bacolod City
▪41-year-old male from Bacolod City
▪38-year-old male from Bacolod City
▪43-year-old male Bacolod City

As of June 10, the DOH-6 has recorded 130 confimed cases of COVID-19. The total number includes 94 recoveries and 11 deaths.IMT
