The coronavirus-positive resident of Sta. Barbara town in Iloilo province remained in a “guarded condition”, according to the Department of Health (DOH-6).

In a virtual press conference yesterday, July 3, DOH-6 spokesperson Dr. Renilyn Reyes said the 52-year-old man is classified as patient with a severe acute respiratory infection.

But the good thing, according to Reyes, is that the patient, who has been intubated, showed a sign of improvement.

“The attending physician said the patient’s oxygen requirement nagnubo na, isa na ini ka sinyales nga may maayo na nga improvement ang aton pasyente nga halin sa Sta. Barbara,” she said.

With regards to contact tracing, Reyes said: “Wala pa kita updates.”

The patient is among the new COVID-19 patients recorded by the region’s health department this week. He had no history of travel outside Iloilo.IMT
