Jaro district registered the highest number of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in Iloilo City.
From Sept. to Dec.2020, Jaro logged 968 cases, accounting for almost 30 percent of the 3,278 infections during the last four months of 2020, data from the city government showed.
It was followed by Molo with 562 cases; La Paz, 411; Mandurriao, 394; City Proper, 365; Lapuz, 308; and Arevalo, 270.
Among the barangays in the city, Tabuc Suba had the highest number of cases with 22, followed Cubay (19), and Balabago (16), all in Jaro.
Based on data from the Department of Health (DOH-6), the city recorded a total of 4,667 COVID-19 cases since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in March.
Of the figure, 4,397 have recovered and 149 have died.
The city is currently under modified general community quarantine (MGCQ), the lowest form of lockdown enforced by the national government.
The Inter- Agency Task Force (IATF) downgraded the city’s status from GCQ until the end of January 2021.
