President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has designated Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla Jr. as the new Interior Secretary.
Remulla replaced Benhur Abalos Jr., who has filed his certificate of candidacy for senator in the next year’s elections.
“Governor Jonvic is more than qualified to handle the challenges of one of the government’s most important jobs,” Marcos Jr. said in a social media post.
“I do not have to spell out my marching orders to him because, as a boot on the ground, he knows what to do and how best to do it—most importantly, keeping our people safe in their homes and making our local governments dynamic frontliners of service,” he also said.
Remulla took his oath of office before the President early today, Oct. 8.IMT
