Kaya Futbol Club – Iloilo and United City Football Club showed impressive performances in the field, the reason why they ended up in a draw during a scintillating match in the 2022 Copa Paulino Alcantara on Monday night, March 28, at the PFF National Training Center in Carmona, Cavite.

It was a battle of rivals as the Ilonggos face the squad which was formerly known as Ceres-Negros FC.

United City FC drew the first blood to get the lead at the 35th minute mark with veteran Mike Ott hammering the ball past the defense of defending champions Kaya-Iloilo.

Determined to score a goal, Daizo Horikoshi tied the game at the 56th minute with Iloilo City-based football club securing a point to stay on top of the standings with four points, on one win and a draw.

With the score tied at 1-1, series of opportunities were given to both teams but the tight defense from both sides maintained the stalemate.

Meanwhile, United City FC also has the same standings of four points, on one draw and a victory, a 4-0 domination to Maharlika Manila FC last week.

In another game, the 2021 Copa runner ups Azkals Developmental Team winning against Mendiola 1991 Football Club, 3-0.

Scott Woods, Sky Guerrero and Lance Ocampo starred for the national men’s developmental football which ranked second in the standing. Azkals Developmental Team took a 1-0 upperhand just before the intermission with Woods sinking a penalty kick. The lead was doubled at the 74th minute with Guerrero’s left foot hit. Minutes later Ocampo joined the scoring fray as he kicked in from close range.IMT Sports
