With the much-anticipated Philippine Superliga (PSL) comeback, Ilongga volleybelle Aiza Maizo-Pontillas decided to remain with the Sta. Lucia Lady Realtors ahead of the 2021 season.
In a Facebook post, Lady Realtors announced their acquisition of the Passi City, Iloilo-native Maizo-Pontillas after her former team Petron Blaze Spikers took a pandemic leave from PSL.
“The instruction from Sta. Lucia’s team owner was clear: Get someone who can score at will. And who fits that description to a T? None other than one of Philippine volleyball’s queens, Aiza Maizo-Pontillas!” the Lady Realtors said.
Team manager Von Mojado welcomed Maizo-Pontillas, who is a many-time national women’s volleyball team mainstay.
“We hope to to have a better showing in the upcoming PSL season. Alam naman natin what she brings to any team she’s in and this will be a very big boost para sa campaign namin this volleyball season,” said Mojado.
Mojado also shared Maizo Pontillas’ leadership in and out of the court will be a big factor for the team.
With her acquisition, she will have a reunion with her former teammates and friends – ex-Central Philippine University players DM Demontano and Glaudine Trongcoso and former University of San Agustin volleybelle Jackie Estoquia.
The former star of the University of Santo Tomas Golden Tigresses will also reunite with her former Blaze Spikers teammate Mika Reyes at the Lady Realtors camp.IMT
