The Department of Health (DOH-6) on Sunday, March 29, revealed that the fourth patient who tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the province of Iloilo is from the town of Lambunao.
The patient, based on the March 28, 2020 bulletin issued by the Department of Health (DOH-6), is a 70-year-old man with no travel history outside of the province and of the country.
“Ginamonitor ta guid ini sya kay elderly na sya and may existing nga sakit,” said Dr. Mary Jane Juanico of the DOH-6.
The patient has chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and diabetes.
The DOH is still determining how the man was exposed to the virus.
“May ara ini siya nga relative from Thailand nga nagpauli. Isa man ini sa ginatan-aw ta,” Juanico said.
According to a reliable source, the patient’s wife and one of their children are also confined in the same hospital.
Juanico said contact tracing is ongoing.
The other COVID-19 patients in the province are from Guimbal, Miagao, and Barotac Nuevo.
There are currently 32 patients under investigation (PUIs) confined in hospitals and about three thousand persons under monitoring (PUMs) for COVID-19 in the province.IMT
