The campaign rally of presidential aspirant Leni Robredo and her running mate Kiko Pangilinan in Iloilo on Friday, Feb. 25, became the top trending topic nationwide.
The hashtags #ILOILOisPink and #HalaBiraLeniKiko ranked first and second, respectively, with nearly 100 thousand tweets.
The rally, which was held at the Iloilo Sports Complex in La Paz district, Iloilo City, was attended by more or less 40 thousand “kakampinks.”
“Ramdan na ramdam ko parin ngayon ang lakas ng inyong suporta sa akin. Malapit na malapit din po kayo sa puso ko. Halos lahat ng bayan dito sa inyong lalawigan ay napuntahan ko na dahil sa iba’t ibang proyekto sa ilalim ng Office of the Vice President” Robredo said in front of her pink-clad supporters.
Former Eraserheads frontman Ely Buendia, Rivermaya, and “Buwan” hitmaker JK Labako performed during the grand rally.
Also present were Sharon Cuneta, Cherry Pie Picache, Edu Manzano, Bituin Escalante, Lara Quigaman-Alcaraz, Ogie Diaz, Gabby Padilla, Red Ollero, and Vic Anastacio.
Robredo and Pangilinan also held mini-rallies in Oton, Ajuy, Concepcion, Pototan, Sta. Barbara and Passi City.
Iloilo is the eight most vote-rich province in the country with more than 1.6 million registered voters.
In 2016, Robredo got the highest votes for vice president with 711,391, while former senator Bongbong Marcos garnered 128,189 votes.IMT
