The lone coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patient in the town of Dumangas, Iloilo province has recovered from the disease, according to the Department of Health (DOH-6).

Tagged as Western Visayas Patient No. 276, the 16-year-old male resident is among the six new recoveries in the region.

The patient was brought to the Western Visayas Medical Center (WVMC) in Iloilo City after he manifested symptoms of COVID-19.

He had no history of travel to areas in the Philippines with COVID-19 cases or outside the country.

The five other new survivors are a 35-year-old male from Balasan, Iloilo (OFW); a 51-year-old male from Nueva Valencia, Guimaras (OFW); a 24-year-old male from Escalante, Negros Occidental (LSI); a 26-year-old male from Escalante, Negros Occidental (LSI); and a 20-year-old male from Escalante, Negros Occidental (LSI).

The province of Iloilo, as of July 9, has recorded a total of 41 indigenious or local cases of COVID-19. The figure includes 17 active cases, 20 recoveries, and four deaths.IMT
