The Tultugan Festival of Maasin town defended its title in the Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahanan, one of the highlights of Iloilo City’s Dinagyang Festival.

The defending champion bested nine other festivals in the 2025 edition of Kasadyahan to bring home the grand prize worth P1.2 million.

Tultugan also bagged the Best in Music, Best in Production Design, Best in Choreography, and Best in Performance awards.

Last year, the Tultugan Festival was declared second placer in the Aliwan Fiesta’s Street Dancing Competition.

Tultugan is “a native bamboo percussion instrument used by natives of long ago as a tool for communication and as a musical instrument.”

Meanwhile, the Hirinugyaw-Suguidanonay Festival of Calinog was declared first runner-up and pocketed P700,000 while Leon’s Kaing Festival was named second runner up with  P500,000.

The Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahanan is dubbed as the “festival of festivals” in the province of Iloilo. It is a “vibrant showcase Iloilo tourism, offering a display of window into the soul of this dynamic province.”IMT
