Former Iloilo City mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog is not closing his doors on mounting a political comeback in 2025.
In an ambush interview, Mabilog was asked if will run for office in next year’s midterm elections.
“I have not even thought about it, but I couldn’t say no because if God plans it, I will obey and I will follow,” he responded.
In a Facebook post, the former mayor said he’s “praying for discernment.”
“Nananalangin para sa kaalaman at tamang pag-unawa. Depende sa tingog sang Pumuluyo.”
Mabilog returned to the Philippines last Sept. 10 after seven years of exile in the United States.
He left the country in 2017 after he was repeatedly accused by former president Rodrigo Duterte of being a drug protector.
Mabilog did not finish his third term which should have ended in 2019. He was replaced by then vice mayor Joe III Espinosa.IMT
