Marivic Mabilog, wife of former Iloilo City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog, fired back at President Rodrigo Duterte after the latter called her out in a televised address on Monday, December 7.
In a Facebook post, Marivic again told Duterte to “move on”. She also branded the President’s drug list as “fake”.
“Apparently, aside from sleeping, he’s got nothing better things to do. You are the president of the Philippines. Your drug list is as fake as a 15-peso bill. It’s not even worth the toilet paper it’s written on. Move on,” said Marivic.
Duterte mentioned Marivic who urged him to “move on” and “get a life” after his Dec. 1 address where he read out names of dismissed government workers, including Jed.
“Ito naman si Mabilog, nagyayawyaw ‘yong asawa. Look, it is not my fault that your husband’s name appears on that list. Hindi aking listahan ‘yan,” Duterte said.
“Now, there’s no such thing that I have to move on because it’s a constant vigilance kung nasabi ko ang pangalan ulit because at that time, he was named. Dito ngayon, ‘yong conviction niya, dismissed from public office and barred from seeking to hold public office, that is not my decision, it is the decision of the Ombudsman,” he added.
Jed was ordered dismissed by the Ombudsman in 2017 for unexplained wealth in his statement of assets, liabilities and net worth from 2012 to 2013.
He was among the officials named the President in August 2016 as drug protectors.
Mabilog has repeatedly denied the allegation.
The former city mayor and his family left the country in 2017. Their whereabouts remain unknown.IMT
